In 1982 Duncan White founded Chalky Whites Exhaust & Tyre Centre. It quickly grew to become one of the largest independent centres in the area. During the following years more and more customers were asking whether other services were available so a decision was made to diversify into brakes, clutches, cam belts and general servicing. Another decision was then made in the late 1980’s to change the trading title to Chalky Whites Repair & Servicing which identified clearer the type of work carried out. 

The company continued to grow throughout the 1990’s and early 2000’s and in 2003 Duncan decided to sell the business and move on to pastures new. However, in March this year an opportunity arose to purchase the business back so after a break of 7 years Duncan is back in control. During his time away motor vehicles have become a lot more sophisticated with diagnostic equipment needed to solve a lot of the faults that can arise. Chalky whites have invested in equipment to make sure we are in a position to diagnose these faults.

Chalky whites is also an authorised M.O.T testing station for class 4 motor vehicles (cars and vans up to 3 ton).
