manufacturer's warranty? This legislation is referred in the trade as Block
Exemption Regulations.
This legislation
changes the way cars may be serviced and repaired and gives you the freedom
to choose who should look after you car. Before 'BER' it was very difficult
to have cars, which were still covered by the manufacturer's warranty,
serviced anywhere except a franchised dealer.
The Office of Fair
Trading reports that the average service costs £199.00 at a typical
franchised dealer, whereas the independent garage average is £116.00, without
any apparent difference in quality.
